Although you are completely free in setting up your individual coding system, INTERACT also does offer some predefined coding systems, representing established coding methods for specific areas.
Some of them are explained in the various examples spread across the documentation and some are just listed here, available for download.
Feel free to adapt those implementations to fit your specific needs.
oFACS - This package contains multiple implementations of the Facial Action Coding system. A detailed description of the various setups can be found in the section Coding Facial Expressions.
oEmotion Wheel - A set of Codes that allows you to categorize the 7 basic emotions into the further underlying more diversified emotions and feelings.
oACT4TEAMS - An implementation of the The Advanced Interaction Analysis for Teams (act4teams) coding ccheme developed by Simone Kauffeld , Nale Lehmann-Willenbrock and Annika L. Meinecke for use without the special keyboard. This coding scheme is a theory-based, validated too for measuring the fine grained problem-solving dynamics in groups and teams.
oIKD - Instrument zu Kodierung von Diskussionen (Discussion Coding System) - Codes in German.
oPLATO - A widely used coding system in educational research. It is typically applied to 15 minutes intervals, resulting in only 4 Events per hour, which is not a typical INTERACT approach. Having all Codes in one Event strips the user of doing any kind of time-based/related analysis routines like finding co-occurrences, sequences and contingencies.
oCLASS - A multi-level coding system for educational research. One implementation uses free comments and numbered ratings per per category. The other consists of a wide range of detailed Codes to describe the situation. All Codes in German.
oMangold Teaching Demo - Complete demo package with videos, sample data and sample code defintions.
oMotivational Interviewing
oMARTEMEO - The positive approach - communication and interactions in interpersonal relationships. A basic set of possible Codes in a two pass setup.
oSYMLOG - System for Multiple Level Observation of Groups, introduced by Bales and Cohen (1979), represents both theory and method for the observation and research of processes within a group of individuals .
