Audio Encoder

When using our default portable lab, or if there is no space to run an extra audio cable back to the cameras in a stationary lab, it is possible to capture the audio signal from the network.

For this we use the Axis Connectivity Hub D3110 (successor of the Axis Audio encoder P8221):

Axis P8221

If your setup contains this device, you first need to create a Source for it:

Click Create new Source and enter the IP number of the Axis D3110 found in your network into the IP address field.

Click Verify to receive the device details automatically:

vsp_audioencodersource

Enter a descriptive Source name for this Audio Encoder.

Enter the channel number to which your audio source is connected.

IMPORTANT: This source itself CANNOT be added to a scenario, but can only be assigned to other Axis Sources as its external audio signal.

Assign Audio Source to Camera Source

In order to use the audio signal from the network, you need to assign this 'Network Audio' source to each Axis Camera source that should receive this audio signal:

Select the Axis camera source that should receive its audio signal from this encoder.

Select the now available Audio Encoder from the External audio list:

vsp_externalaudioselected

Repeat this last step for each Axis camera that should receive its audio signal through the network audio encoder.

Confirm your settings by clicking OK.

Now VideoSyncPro Studio is able to insert the audio received by the network audio encoder into the video of the adjusted Axis video sources.
