Another great functionality is the possibility to copy Codes from the Code Archive into you current Code definition files.
This enables you to easily rebuild your Code definitions based on previously coded data.
So, whenever you do have a data file filled with Codes and Classes that you would like to use in a Code definitions file, do as follows:
▪Ensure the data file was actively saved at least once on your computer
(so a Code Archive with all Codes from the current file is created)
▪Click Start - Observation - Define Codes to open the Code-Definition window.
Make sure the current Code definition file is the one in which the Codes should be added.
▪Create a new empty code Definition file if needed.
▪Click the Add Codes from Code Archive icon to open the current Code Archive.
The Code Archive belonging to the currently opened document will open:
▪Select the Codes you want to copy like shown in the picture.
▪Click OK to confirm your selection.
INTERACT now copies all of the selected Codes the current Code definitions file:
Change Code Archive
To copy Codes from another Code Archive, you first need to load that Code Archive.
To make sure that you do not mix things up, it is best to create a new empty file first:
▪Create a new empty data file using Start - File - New .
▪Click Start - Current Document - Properties .
▪Select the Code Archive you need from the Code Archive drop down list.
▪Confirm with OK.
▪Now this Code Archive is loaded and its content will be shown if you click
