Audio Mixer

Depending on the configuration of your lab, you probably possess one of the following Audio Mixer devices*:

oBehringer Xenyx 802, 502 or similar

oRolls MX310

oArtMX audio mixer or similar

oTASCAM for additional simultaneous recording of multiple audio streams

An audio mixer has the following purpose:

oReceive audio input from multiple microphones and send a combined (mixed) audio output signal to the cameras or the network audio encoder.

oProvide power to a XLR boundary microphone (phantom power).

oAmplify the signal of each microphone independently, to level the audio quality.

*) Small Labs with a single USB boundary microphone do not contain an audio mixer.
