If you are transcribing a session with multiple speakers, you may want to add the speaker for each sentence immediately.
In that case, the procedure described in Perform Sentence-based Transcriptions needs a a little tweak:
In addition to the settings about entering comments with the SPACEBAR as described, we need to add the ID's or names of the speakers present:
The NONE Speaker is optional, allowing you to easily label all the empty, silence sequences.
The initial coding rhythm is still the same: SPACEBAR > SPACEBAR > "Transcription" > RETURN
But after closing the comment dialog with RETURN, you are now able to select the speaker of that sentence. Something like this:
SPACEBAR > SPACEBAR > "Transcription" > RETURN > [2]
SPACEBAR > SPACEBAR > "Transcription" > RETURN > [1]
SPACEBAR > SPACEBAR > RETURN > [0]
SPACEBAR > SPACEBAR > "Transcription" > RETURN > [3]
Note: You may add more Codes to a sentence in one pass as well, but it is also possible to add further qualifications in a second pass.
