STRUCTURE data files

For some statistical results, restructuring your behavioral data is useful or even required.

Sometimes, getting the statistics or comparisons you want are at hand, simply by sorting and regrouping your data in different DataSets or Classes.

INTERACTs ability to easily move and combine Codes, can give a completely different insight for your research, because it enables you to aggregate your data in almost any way.

Besides cleaning up your document, by renaming coded Codes, there are multiple ways to restructure your data:

oMerge Data into one big compilation file for over all analysis.

oStructure Behavioral Events within a single document

oOptimize Events explains how you can consolidate or merge Events or make your data exhaustive or exclusive.

oExtend Observations offers routines to extend your coded data, based on the information collected.

oPattern Segmentation turns all your observations into pure sequential data by creating a new Event for each code-pattern.

oManipulate Class columns explains how you can add, rename, duplicate and rearrange your columns.

Note: For most statistics and many renaming operations, it saves you a lot of time if you merge multiple documents to one single file, before analysis!

Another useful functionality during the analysis of your data, are the Independent variables. These variables allow you to easily make selections of specific DataSets (e.g. all boys, if you use a variable for gender), which prevents mistakes in huge documents.
