Attach Files as Comments

It is possible to attach all kinds of external files, to any line in your INTERACT document. You can link files to DataGroups, DataSets and Events. This can be useful for training and documentation purposes or for building indexes on your multimedia archive.

INTERACT can show the content of a linked file, using the keyword "File:" in its reference, by starting the corresponding application.

INTERACT enters the following string into the transcript field:

FILE: + <path\your file>
(You can also enter this information manually.)

In all cases, INTERACT enters the following string into the transcript field:

File: + <path\multimedia file>
(You can also enter this information manually.)

As long as the path and file name are valid, this link enables you to watch the extra information within its original application.

You can watch those items apart from the source video you are currently analyzing.

View Linked Files

To view the content of any file that is linked to a line using the key-word "File:", "View:" or "DataView:" the required application for that file must be installed in a way that double-clicking the file itself automatically starts the correct application.

To open the file from within INTERACT:

Right-Click the line with the file reference.

Select the Open linked files command from the context menu.
