macOS Host

Users who want to use a stand-alone copy of the CheckIT app might want to host it on a Mac.

For those, an additional installer package is available, depending on the hardware of their mac:

oCheckIT-x.x.x-darwin-arm64.zip - For M1-based systems

oCheckIT-x.x.x-darwin-x64.zip - For intel-based systems

Installation

Unzip the package you received.

Move the folder to your preferred location.

Rename the folder if you want.

Run the start.bat file and make sure the installation can take place uninterrupted.

On a clean system, all should be well out of the box.

If you receive an error about node.js not being found:

Download and install Node.js for macOS.

Replace the Node folder inside the CheckIT folder with a copy of the Node folder you just installed.

If other Python and node.js versions are installed, there might be a version conflict, so pay attention to that.

IMPORTANT: On macOS, the Node.js installation often requires a separate installation of node.js. The Node folder inside the CheckIT package needs to be replaced by the version downloaded on that particular mac.
