INTERACT can also be used to create an individual play-list.
The command Observation Ribbon - Play selected allows you to play all selected Events one after another.
This also works for Events spread over multiple DataSets that are linked to different (sets of) videos:
▪Make sure the videos are linked correctly to their corresponding DataSet, so INTERACT opens the corresponding multimedia file(s) whenever you double-click on a time-value within a Set.
▪Within each Set, create at least one Event that covers the part of the multimedia file(s) to be played.
TIP: | Should each Set receive a single Event that covers the complete duration of the attached videos, use the Split-time command to create all Events at once. |
Cover Complete Video-duration
You can perform these steps on an Event as well as for a Set. We describe the Set method because we want to automatically create all Events:
▪Open the linked video(s) with a double-click, this ensures the correct Set is selected.
▪Click on the Go to End video Control or hit [F5] to jump to the end of the opened video(s).
▪Press CTRL+2 to enter the current time into the offset column of the selected Set.
▪Double-Click the next Set and perform the same steps until your last Set is configured.
TIP: | To create a chronological time stream for single video files, enter the offset value+1 frame of the preceding video into the Define Multimedia start time within the Multimedia Settings dialog of the video(s) that belong to the succeeding DataSet. |
Split Sets into single Events
The Time-Split command was designed to create interval-based Events for a predefined time span, as required for the Time-Sampling method.
It can also be used to create 'Playlist-Events' that cover the exact same duration as their Set.
Presuming all Sets do already cover the time span that should be part of your play-list:
▪Select all Sets (CTRL+A).
▪Click Restructure - Split - Time Split
▪Enter a duration that is longer that the longest video into the upcoming dialog.
▪Confirm with OK.
INTERACT now creates a single Event with matching duration for each Set
Play Selected Events
▪Select all Events to be played (use the Find command if you need only Events with a specific entry).
▪Press [F12] to start playing.
After the first Event, INTERACT automatically jumps to the next and keeps playing.
Should the next Event be part of another Set, with other video material linked to it, INTERACT automatically closes the previous video(s) and opens the next.
Note: The time information does not play a role for the playing order, solely the order of your Sets and Events is important. Use any of the available sorting methods to re-arrange your data.
