Lag Sequential Analysis was designed for mutually exclusive data.
Having multiple, overlapping behavior types per Subject AND subjects that perform these activities simultaneously, results in session data that is anything but sequential.
The sequence analysis is applied to all Events and Codes currently visible in the Timeline Chart. So for some sequences, you can simply select a single Class on opening the Timeline Chart.
The Sequence Analysis routine searches for the first start time and counts the Code with the start time that is found next as its successor.
Keeping that in mind, for some answers it is sufficient to simply merge the Events from all Subjects into a single Session-Set, as described in Analyze Session-based, and select only the Codes and Classes that can be considered half-way sequential.
For other, more complex sequences that consist of a combination of Codes, you first need to create pattern segments reflecting a specific combination of behavior and use these pattern segments for the Sequence Analysis.
More details for this specific example, based on our demo data will follow, but describing something as complex as this without looking at your own real data is always hard.
