You can also use the Replace command to replace characters that are entered in the transcription area or comment field:
▪Select the option ¤ Transcripts.
▪Enter the text you want to replace into the Text field.
▪Enter the new description into the Replace with field.
This routine is very helpful in the following situations:
oCleanup typos in transcriptions.
oChange names or people or locations to anonymize your data.
oChanging path names in file references, if the linked files were moved to another directory.
oAdding a # in front of a specific word to tag that word, so you can turn those entries in to a Code, as explained in Turn Words into Codes.
TIP: | If you notice that in your transcription that certain words were used many, many times, these expressions might be of interest during analysis (reactions to specific words for instance). If you tag those words in a special way, you can easily turn those tagged words into real Codes, within a new Class. The extension Annotations - Convert tagged #words into Codes is able to turn those expressions into Codes. |
